Chocolate Banana Cream Pie is pretty much one of the best things that ever happened! It’s a mashup of banana cream pie, cheesecake, and chocolate pudding all in one luscious no bake dessert! Keep this recipe around for those super busy days!
The tire store in our little community is putting together a trip for community members to go bicycle in Northern Idaho. They invite anyone who wants to go. I talked my family into going with me…I love bicycling…not so much love from them!
I’ve heard the scenery is gorgeous and it’s always fun to hang out with a great group of people. Getting a little, or lot, of exercise along the way won’t hurt either. I’m telling you I’m fired up to go ride my bike! I might change my mind after my bum gets super sore!
We will be biking about 150 miles in 4 days. We are packing our entire luggage on our bikes and those bike bags don’t hold very much “stuff”. I’ve been thinking about what to pack for a few weeks now but just started throwing it together today. We pretty much only have room for just the necessities; toothbrush, one change of clothes, jammies, undies!

PRINTABLE EASY BANANA CREAM PIE RECIPE
You might find yourself developing a love-hate relationship with this easy banana cream pie too! I truly loved it so much I couldn’t leave it alone! That’s really saying something coming from someone who rarely eats bananas. And honestly, I can’t blame the way I look in tight stretchy pants completely on this pie as there were a few other contributing factors too!

Hello, I can’t wait to make this. However, it says whipped cream, divided. And also says heavy cream; but heavy cream isn’t in the ingredients list. Please advise. Thank you.
Amy Engberson says
Thanks for catching that! I like to use heavy cream and whip it to make whipped cream. You can also use Cool Whip if you’d like, but the real thing is so much better! More whipped cream is better so I use lots! You can reduce the amount used if you’d like!

This has officially become my husband’s favorite dessert! I have never seen him so excited to eat any dessert! It is so easy to make, and so delicious. Perfect for summer. It is actually better if made a day ahead. Thanks for sharing this.
Amy Engberson says
Wow! It’s the BEST when their favorite is EASY, especially if it’s best made ahead! Thanks for sharing!

Easy to make. Instructions easy to follow. Used store pie crust and felt it was way too small to hold ingredients. Pie tin very flimsy and when I went to put it in the fridge, the tin bent in half. A lot of pudding wound up on the floor. We’ll eat it in cups as a mini-trifle? A heads up that it’s a heavy finished product would have helped. I would have made my own crust in a sturdier pie pan. Looks horrible but I’m sure it will taste great. I this age of “safer at home” taste is more important than appearance.

Hi Susan! That’s such a bummer your pie dumped on the floor. It sounds like maybe your pan was just too flimsy to hold up. It is a very full pie! I bet your family will gobble it up anyway!
Linda Lou says
I want to make this the day before thanksgiving, will it hold up ?
Is there way to keep the bananas from turning brown ?
Amy Engberson says
Hi Linda Lou! I’ve made it several times the day before serving it. The bananas do turn a bit brown, but not as brown as you might think. You could dip banana slices in pineapple juice to slow the browning process if you wanted to. That should help preserve them a little longer. Happy Thanksgiving!
Martha says
This pie is too easy and too delicious! Thank you for a perfect recipe!!! PS-not sure why you need to wear stretchy shorts to ride a bike. I wore them once and felt so uncomfortable in every way. Too tight, too hot, yuk, never again. Athletic shorts are fine for me even on a long ride.
Amy Engberson says
Haha! I forgot I told everyone in the world how I felt about wearing my stretchy pants! I’ve worn athletic shorts to exercise in too, but I still like my stretchy pants, especially for jogging! Either way, exercise is awesome!
I’m glad you enjoyed this pie! Easy recipes are my fave!
Mo says
Whipped cream? Like from the spray can? Or cool whip? TIA!
Amy Engberson says
I like to whip my own cream from heavy cream! It’s so much better than the cool whip stuff and so worth the extra little bit of effort!
Donna says
Just made this. Wow! This is a keeper. Used a homemade graham cracker pie crust. My hubby was so happy!!
Amy Engberson says
Having a happy husband is always a good thing and this pie always helps them be happy! Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks Jess! It’s one of our favorites for sure!
Maria says
The bananas don’t get brown?
Amy Engberson says
Hi Maria! My family pretty much devours this pie right away so they don’t give the bananas a chance to get brown! We did have a few slices leftover and the bananas were a little brown the next day but it the pie still tasted amazing!
Jenny | Honey and Birch says

I hope the bike ride goes well! And this pie sounds fantastic. While I cannot eat bananas (boo, allergies), I bet my husband and daughter would totally dig this!
Amy Engberson says
Allergies are such a bummer! I don’t usually like bananas too much, pair them with chocolate and cheesecake though! Im in!
Dee says
This is my kind of pie — easy, and it looks super delicious! Have fun on your trip!
Amy Engberson says
Easy desserts are the best! We ride the first day of our trip today-48 miles down about 100 to go!
Matthew Cetta says
Yes to No Bake because seriously that oven needs to stay off until October.
Amy Engberson says
I agree! For one thing it’s too hot to bake and in the second place summer is too fun to be stuck in the kitchen!

Summer is all about no bake desserts and this one just shot to the top of my list to make!! I don’t care if I have to wear stretchy shorts all summer….totally worth it!
Amy Engberson says
This pie deserves a spot at the top of the “must make” recipes! And yes, stretchy pants are a good thing!
Jen says
This definitely will be a dangerous dessert for me….meaning, I’m not sure how I’m supposed to resist not eating it all myself!! Looks so good!
Amy Engberson says
It was a bit dangerous! I ate way more than my sharecwhen the kids were at school! Hehe!
