Blueberry Sweet Rolls are popping with fruity blueberries and they have an insanely delicious cream cheese layer too! It’s like blueberry cheesecake and the best sweet bread!
Use your favorite homemade cinnamon roll recipe, or keep things really simple and use frozen dough!

Life is crazy busy! Am I right?
Honestly I don’t remember the last time I talked to someone that wasn’t running like crazy!
Maybe that’s because I live in a farming community and we’ve all been in the fields quite a bit lately.
Either way, life is busy and I’m going to use all the quick and easy recipes I can get!
Quick and easy breakfast recipes are at the top of my list right now too because I’m not really in the mood to roll out of bed super early just to get breakfast on the table.
These Blueberry Cinnamon Rolls are so easy to make because I use frozen bread dough. It’s one of my favorite tricks in the whole world! But if you have time go ahead and make your own homemade cinnamon roll dough.
And, you can let them rise in the fridge overnight and just pop them in the oven in the morning!
That’s my idea of a great morning!

How to make super EASY Blueberry Sweet Rolls
I’m going to tell you how I make these with all my cheater tips! I’m also going to include ideas for making them more so from scratch if that’s your jam!
Either way, they’ll be amazing and your whole family will give you extra hugs! They’re that good!
Here’s the step by step instructions for making Blueberry Rolls…the easiest way!
Pro Tip on how to make sweet rolls ahead of time: Assemble rolls through step 9, then cover with greased plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight. Remove from the fridge in the morning. Let rise until doubled, which will mostly happen overnight. Then bake as directed.
Let’s make the rolls!
- Thaw bread dough according to package instructions. I like either thawing it in the fridge overnight. See my tip below for making them ahead of time. (Btw, Rhodes frozen dough is my favorite)
- Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth. Use an electric mixer to make it easy. Set aside.
- Roll thawed dough into a 12″x18″ rectangle, about 1/2 an inch thick.
- Spread cream cheese mixture over the dough.
- Spread blueberry sauce, or blueberry jam over cream cheese layer. If you want to make homemade blueberry sauce try using my Homemade Raspberry Sauce recipe, except substituting blueberries for the raspberries. Let it cool before using it in this recipe.
- Roll the dough up jelly-roll style, starting with at the narrow end. Don’t roll too tightly or you’ll squeeze the blueberry sauce out.
- Pinch the seams together.
- Cut into rolls using floss or a sharp serrated knife. I usually make about 12-15 rolls.
- Place rolls on greased, or parchment-lined, baking sheet.
- Let rise in a warm spot until doubled, about an hour. Rising time will depend on room temperature.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Cool.
Tip on how to rise bread faster– Turn oven on to 200 degrees. As soon as it hits the temperature turn it off. Cover bread with greased plastic wrap and place in the oven.
Lemon frosting is fantastic on these rolls!
Okay, I’m sharing two options with you! Too keep it really simple, use a can of vanilla icing! Or, whip up a batch of homemade frosting.
You decide how much time you’ve got!
Canned frosting is really quick and easy!
- Take it over the top by adding a Tablespoon of lemon zest,
- Add a little bit of lemon juice (about a Tablespoon) to thin it out if you don’t want it as thick.
- Or, heat it in the microwave for a few seconds to make it more like a glaze.
Homemade frosting is obviously better than canned but a takes a little extra effort.
- Mix powdered sugar, butter, lemon zest, and lemon juice together.
- Mix until smooth and creamy.
