Watermelon Salad Recipe Ingredients
The ingredients you need for this salad are simple! I’ll give you a few options for substitutions just in case you don’t have everything you need!
- Watermelon – Fresh, seedless is best
- Blueberries – Fresh
- Feta Cheese – Original. Either pre crumbled, or crumble yourself. I’m not a fan of blue cheese, but I think it would work
- Mint (Optional) – Fresh. Can substitute basil since they are in the same herb family.
- Lime Juice – Fresh if you have it. Use concentrate if needed.
- Olive Oil – Use canola or vegetable oil if you don’t have olive oil.
- Honey (optional) – If you want to keep this as a sugar-free salad dressing, leave the honey out. You can also use a teaspoon of sugar, be sure to whisk it until it’s dissolved.
- Salt and Pepper – I like sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Use what you have.
Watermelon Feta Salad Variations:
This is a fun salad to get creative with! Some people like to keep it simple and others like to add something extra to it! Make it just the way you like!
- Cucumbers – add fresh, diced cucumbers. They do add a pretty green color
- Jalapeno – If you want to take it up a notch add diced jalapenos (remove seeds and membranes of jalapenos to for a slightly milder flavor)
- Balsamic Vinegar – Use balsamic vinegar instead of lime juice. It will make the watermelon brown, so you might want to serve it on the side and let people drizzle it over the salad.
How to make Watermelon Salad
This salad is as easy as dicing up some watermelon and mixing it with blueberries! It really is simple and that’s my favorite kind of recipes!
