Last week I was at the Eastern Idaho State Fair doing a little presentation. When I was asked to share a presentation I knew I wanted to give ideas that would make dinner time easier and more doable for families. Sliders are always a good suggestion for families because almost any leftovers can be turned into a slider, they are inexpensive, and they are so quick to make.
As I was mulling demonstration ideas over in my mind I just knew I needed to create a dessert slider.
Why haven’t I thought of this before? I’m not sure why that idea has never occurred to me along with the thousands of other foodie ideas that have popped into my brain as I’m jogging down the road. Yes, almost all of my inspiration comes to me when I’m jogging down the road. It keeps me entertained.
Right away I dreamed up the idea of creating a Caramel Apple Cheesecake Slider and I couldn’t wait to try it.
I made a batch of Caramel Apple Cheesecake Sliders to share during my demonstration at the fair because I knew people would stay and at least act interested if they knew they were going to get samples at the end!
These sliders, like my other sliders, start with Rhodes Rolls. I love making them from Rhodes Frozen Rolls because I always have them stocked in my freezer, and because I can make as many or as few as I want. For this recipe I recommend making 18 rolls because that’s about the right amount for using all of the cheesecake filling and apple pie filling. You could always make less, but you would have leftover pie filling which wouldn’t be the end of the world.
Thaw and bake rolls according to package instructions. Let cool.
Cut rolls apart. I like to leave them in one big “sheet” of rolls so I can flip the whole top off without having to flip one top off at a time.
Mix cream cheese, caramel ice cream topping, brown sugar, and a little salt together. Spread cheesecake filling over bottoms of rolls.
Open a can of apple pie filling…yes, I’m getting fancy on you! Spread over cheesecake layer.
Set the roll tops back over the bottoms of the rolls.
Brush melted butter over roll tops. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Caramel Apple Cheesecake Sliders are easier than apple pie and every bit as good too! They were a HUGE hit with the crowd at the fair.
Now, in my mind that’s saying something because the whole reason I go to the fair is to eat food. I have to save room for the very best food which means I have to pass up any food that’s not exactly what I’m craving. You know you don’t want to run out of room before you’ve tried everything on you list.
These people at my demonstration made my Caramel Apple Cheesecake Sliders a priority! That’s right, they used some of their precious belly room on my Caramel Apple Cheesecake Sliders! That’s how tasty they are! They are so easy you should make them ASAP so you can see for yourself!
Oh, and although Caramel Apple Cheesecake Sliders are fantastic for dessert I would most definitely recommend them for breakfast as well!

Can you use any type/brand of slider rolls?
Amy Engberson says
Yes. Any brand of sliders or dinner rolls will work great. Hawaiian rolls are a great option.
Melissa says
Made this for tailgating “slider night” and it was great! Considering powdered sugar drizzle for the next time.
Amy Engberson says
Powdered sugar drizzle sounds amazing!

How long will leftovers last in the fridge? Can this be cooked and then frozen/reheated?
Amy Engberson says
I have to admit that leftovers don’t last long at my house! I’ve never tried refrigerating these sliders longer than 3 days. The bottom piece of bread can get a little bit soggy as they sit, but my family still loves them. I haven’t ever tried freezing them so I can’t say exactly how it would work. But, I would bake them first, then freeze them if I tried. Let me know how it goes!
Liz says
Can these be made ahead of time? How do you recommend storing any leftovers?
Amy Engberson says
You can make them up to a day in advance. Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. I hope you love them!

Omg! You have no idea how yummy they are! Dessert sliders should have been invented long ago!
