Greek Yogurt Banana Splits are sure to bring smiles to the kids faces, even on those early mornings! Who wouldn’t want to eat something for breakfast that resembles dessert? Mom’s love them too because they are healthy and quick!
We are back in school which means we are back to a schedule. Why don’t kids have any concept of how to hurry? I can tell them the bus is at the corner and they just keep moving in slow speed. In an effort to make mornings run a little smoother I’m trying make ahead or easy breakfasts. Don’t get me wrong, we love gourmet breakfast but we also love to sleep until at least 6:00.
Greek yogurt banana splits are perfect for breakfast. The kids get excited because they feel like they are getting away with eating dessert for breakfast. I’m excited because they are actually getting some servings of fruit and protein packed dairy first thing in the morning. Not to mention how quick this they are to make. It’s not even like cooking! Everybody wins with these!
Of course you could add whatever you wanted to these. Granola, kiwis, peaches, cold cereal, coconut, dried cranberries… Let your imagination run wild! I’m telling ya, the kiddos will love this one! Greek yogurt banana splits could be served for dessert too if you are into that kind of healthy thing!
Greek Yogurt Banana Splits
Ingredients
- 8 oz. vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1 banana
- 1 cherry
- 2 T. pineapple tidbits
- 1 T. chopped walnuts
- 1/2 tsp. sprinkles
- Optional toppings:
- chocolate syrup
- whipped cream
- caramel sauce
- coconut
- fresh or dried fruit
Instructions
- Cut banana in half lengthwise. Set on plate.
- Scoop yogurt on top of bananas.
- Sprinkle with toppings of your choice.
- Serve immediately.
