Homemade Garlic Butter Croutons are quick and easy to make in the oven! They're chewy in the middle and crispy on the edges, extra buttery, and have the best herbs! Garlic and butter croutons are insanely delicious as a snack, are perfect on soups, and take salads to a whole new level!
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Using a serrated knife cut rolls into 3/4 inch cubes. Set aside
Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Add salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and parsley flakes. Whisk to combine.
Add bread pieces to the butter. Toss to coat.
Spread the bread cubes in a single layer onto the parchement-lined baking sheet making sure there is space between them.
Bake for 7 minutes. Flip the croutons. Bake for 3-5 more minutes or until the croutons are golden brown and crispy on the edges. The baking time will vary depending on your oven and the baking sheet used.
Notes
Herbs: You can use fresh or dried herbs. If you are using fresh herbs increase the amount to 1 1/2 teaspoons. Chives, thyme, rosemary, and oregano are all delicious choices.Baking Sheet: Be sure to use a baking sheet that's big enough you have room to spread the croutons out. They need to have space between them so they'll toast evenly. The croutons will cook faster on a darker baking sheet. You'll need to watch them.How to store croutons: Store the croutons in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, in the fridge for up to 10 days, or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
